Reporting a problem
Tell us what you tried, what you expected, and what happened. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, and Ally version/build from TestFlight. Beta testers can also send feedback through TestFlight.
Use fictional examples. Please do not email medical records, inbox exports, or screenshots with health details, names, or other personal information. We cannot retrieve your local inbox, and you do not need to send it to report a bug.
Common questions
How do I get the beta?
Ally is currently an internal TestFlight beta for invited testers. There is no public beta link or App Store release yet. If you have an invitation, open it on your iPhone and follow the TestFlight instructions. Email us if an invitation you expected is missing or no longer works.
Which iPhones work? Do I need Apple Intelligence?
Ally requires iOS 26 or later on iPhone. Optional model features require a device that supports Apple Intelligence with the model available. Your care inbox, manual notes, visit preparation, and document review work without AI. The current app and document reader use English.
Chat uses source-based answers and app-written administrative wording. It does not interpret lab results or recommend treatment. The separate recorded-follow-up check can be incomplete or unavailable.
Why are Health records missing?
Clinical records must already be available in Apple Health from a supported provider. In Ally's Health tab, review access for clinical records, medications, and activity & sleep separately. Manage permissions in Apple Health, then return to Ally and refresh. Zero results can mean no available data or that read access is off.
Ally only reads what you allow; it cannot change the original records. You → Use Health records for questions controls record lookup in chat and visit preparation, separately from Health permissions. Turning it off does not erase previously saved task sources.
Why didn't a reminder arrive?
A saved check-in date does not enable a notification. Turn on the task's reminder, check notification permission for Ally in iPhone Settings, and review the task's reminder status. Focus and other system settings can affect delivery. Reopen Ally after changing settings.
Ally schedules the nearest 48 future check-ins across both inboxes. Later check-ins remain visibly unscheduled until capacity becomes available and you reopen the app. Beta reminders are not guaranteed, and Ally does not monitor care or medical deadlines.
Can I recover or move my inbox?
There is no cloud sync or restore feature. Inbox files are excluded from backups, and an exported JSON file cannot currently be imported back into Ally. Deleting the app, deleting an inbox, or losing your device can permanently remove your saved work. Do not uninstall Ally as a troubleshooting step if you need that data.
You → Privacy & data offers export and deletion for the current inbox. Exports include saved notes, sources, and history and are not password protected by Ally. Inbox deletion leaves original Health records and external copies unchanged. We cannot recover deleted local data.
Can Ally act for me or check whether my care is complete?
Ally helps organize questions and follow-ups. Approving a draft does not send it. Booking, pharmacy requests, and insurer submissions are not connected. You choose when to share and record what happened. A review with no suggestions does not establish that your care is complete.
